Blessed Sacrament Church
A leper came to Jesus and kneeling down begged him and said,
"If you wish, you can make me clean."
Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand, touched him,
and said to him, " I do will it. Be made clean."
Who We Are & What We Provide
Contact: Janice Corcoran
Our Parish Outreach Program consists of the Food Pantry, Funeral Luncheon Committee and volunteers who provide sandwiches to the Oxford Inn on a Bi-monthly basis. The Food Pantry is the largest function the Parish Outreach Program undertakes. We have approximately 16 to 18 volunteers from Blessed Sacrament. However, we also have volunteers from our community of churches. We serve 25 to 30 families each week or 100 to 150 families each month. These are people who are less fortunate and need the assitstance we provide. These families have to live within the 13206 zip code in order to receive food assistance. As a Parish Outreach, we also provide families and individuals with information corncerning HEAP, Social Services, Emergency Shelter, assistance to battered women and their children. Basically, we are there to guide them to the help they may require. I hope this helps you to understand the role of our Parish Outreach Program within the Eastwood community.
